Chronic pain physical therapy in Las Vegas

Pain that outlasted the injury, taken seriously.

It is not imagined, and it is not a sign you are damaging yourself every time it hurts. It does mean the plan has to be different. After months, the nervous system gets better at producing pain. Thresholds drop, so less input is needed to set it off, and the pain can spread beyond the original area.

What we actually do

  • Find a starting level of activity that does not flare you, however small
  • Build from there on a schedule rather than on how you feel that day
  • Strength work, because capacity is what gives you room to move
  • Pacing strategies for the boom and bust cycle
  • Clear explanation of what persistent pain is doing, because understanding it changes it

Why the scans keep coming back fine

That is a real, measurable change, and it is also one that responds to treatment. It just does not show on imaging, which is why clear scans and ongoing pain sit together so often.

What progress looks like

Capacity improves before pain does. You will usually be able to do more at the same pain level first, and the pain comes down after. Knowing that in advance makes the first few weeks much easier to stick with.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is my pain real if nothing shows on the scan?

Yes. Pain is produced by the nervous system, not read off the tissue, so pain can be severe with normal imaging. Nobody here will suggest you are imagining it. The question we work on is what is keeping it switched on.

  • Can anything change after years of this?

Yes, though the timeline is months rather than weeks. The nervous system stays adaptable. People who have had pain for years routinely get meaningful capacity back, and we will track it so you can see the change rather than guess at it.
