Sports physical therapy in Las Vegas

That is the gap between being cleared for activity and being ready to perform, and it is the gap our therapists work to close.
Athletes we work with
We see athletes of all ages, including these groups.
Gym and lifting
Lifters and gym athletes, including CrossFit, who want to keep lifting while an injury settles, with the lift changed rather than dropped. Dr. Joe has coached CrossFit himself.
Running
Runners, from a first half marathon upward. A running gait analysis on video is part of how we look at running injuries.
Field and court sports
Sprinting, cutting and jumping sports, with their groin strains, ankle sprains and knee injuries. Return is decided by testing.
Overhead sports
Pitchers, swimmers, volleyball and tennis players. We look at throwing, stroke and overhead mechanics, and treat shoulder impingement with the sport in mind.
Combat sports
Combat sports athletes, whose groin, hip and shoulder injuries come from sprawling, shooting, falls and contact.
Weekend athletes
You do not have to be a professional athlete to get serious care. Weekend warriors and active adults get the same one-on-one care.

What performance-minded means here
Rehab does not stop at pain-free. Once the injury has settled, the work shifts to the strength, power and sport-specific movement your position asks for, tested tired as well as fresh.
You work one-on-one with your therapist in every session, with no aide taking over.
Who you will work with
Dr. Joe started in healthcare as an EMT, then co-owned a garage gym and coached CrossFit. Dr. Erica worked as a student athletic trainer in NCAA Division I athletics and as a personal trainer and coach, and has continuing education in running analysis and return-to-sport protocols.
A former college athlete
As a 25-year-old former college athlete who still works out regularly, I thought a lot of the pain, tightness, and issues I was experiencing were just “normal.”

Your first sports physical therapy visit
An hour, one-on-one. We start with your injury, your sport and your goals, then test strength, mobility and the movements your sport is built on, such as landing, cutting, pressing or running.
You leave with a plan that keeps you as active as possible and a clear picture of what you need to achieve before you return.
Book appointmentFrequently asked questions
Do you work with young athletes?
Yes. We see athletes of all ages, from youth sport through combat sport. If you are a parent booking for a young athlete, the free 15-minute call is a good place to ask how sessions will run.
Do I need a referral to see a sports physical therapist?
No. Athletes book with us directly, by phone or through the form on our contact page.
Is this the same as performance physical therapy?
It is the same one-on-one care. Our performance physical therapy page lists the injuries and conditions we treat, and this page is about how we work with athletes.
Can you help me avoid injuries, not just treat them?
Yes. A pre-season evaluation looks for weaknesses and movement inefficiencies before a higher training load exposes them as injuries, and we build a plan around what we find.
